Hello,

Welcome to my website and thank you for paying me a visit. It has been an exciting time since returning to my adopted country America with daughter Caroline in tow, in the summer of 2014. We were blessed to be invited to spend the return year with my wonderful, original "Host Family" the Stidhams, who I lived with during high school and have remained close to ever since.

The real challenge was for Caroline who entered 2nd grade in America without ever having spoken more than five words of English! It was so wonderful to see how she flourished in spite of it. In fact, by the end of that 2nd grade year you would never have known that she wasn't born in the U.S.

Then it was off to NYC and the exciting borough of Manhattan, where we have been since. It started off on a high note as Caroline jumped right into 3rd grade in an excellent school, located about a ten minute walk from where we live and I had the opportunity to work on a project to assist the Lang Lang Foundation in their wonderful mission to bring young people and classical music closer together. Fairly early on in the school year, Caroline's teacher told us that her vocabulary and verbal skills were as good as anyone in her class. I am so proud to report that she finished her second academic year in the U.S. at the very top of her class.

I have also been blessed making new friends and reconnecting with old ones, including my former Cleveland Institute of Music teacher Sergei Babayan, now one of the most sought after teachers at Juilliard. It has been wonderful to attend Sergei's lessons and re-soak up his brilliant teaching techniques, which has no doubt, positively impacted my own thriving, teaching practice.

While I am experienced with and happy to work with students at every level. I consider it my speciality to work with advanced pianists who:

Need a "June" boost to "break through" to the elite status.

Repertoire selection and performance technique for those competing at the international level.

Another activity that I find very rewarding is assisting families in both China and the U.S. with finding the right school for their pre-college or college age children. In either case the challenges abound! However, for Chinese residents there is a definite trend toward younger and younger children coming to the U.S. because of the superior educational opportunities here, and in their case, the burden is even greater to achieve a positive result for their children. Perhaps because I went through it myself, I derive great satisfaction from easing that burden and watching those children grow.

The added blessing to me is that in my role of facilitating the best available combinationof school, living facility and integration into American life, I have developed relationships with many wonderful organizations and people.  I have also been asked to participate in several other Chinese/ American cross cultural/economic activities, but more about them as they developed into realities.

Thanks for reading all this, and please let me know if there is any way I can be helpful to you.
